2 Hour Baguettes

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups bread flour
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp salt
2 cups very warm water
1 tbsp active dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Whisk together bread flour, brown sugar, and salt.
  2. Separately combine very warm water with sugar and yeast. Let rest for 2 minutes.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients together. When fully combined, cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  5. Flour a surface and your hands.
  6. Turn out the dough onto your floured surface.
  7. Gently tuck dough into a smooth ball and cut in half.
  8. Gently pull, twist, and stretch the dough into the shape you want and place on a foil lined sheet pan.
  9. Score the tops, and cover with a kitchen towel. Let rest for 10 to 20 minutes.
  10. Bake in oven for 20 minutes. 
  11. After baking, let rest for 20 minutes before cutting.
