These Christmas cookies are probably the most emblematic Czech Christmas cookies called linecké cukroví in Czech. Crunchy, sweet, incredible.
1. Sift the flour onto the roller, grate the butter over it, add the sugar, egg yolks, grated lemon zest and vanilla sugar.
2. Mix everything well and make a smooth dough.
3. Refrigerate the finished dough at least for 2 hours, ideally until the next day.
4. Roll out the dough into a 3 mm thick sheet and cut out any shapes using cookie cutters (ideally, make half of the cookies with a hole in the centre — use a cutter to make the hole).
5. Place the cut out cookies on the baking tray (use baking paper)
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C until golden brown (approximately 10 minutes.
7. When cookies are baked, powder the ones with having a hole with powder sugar.
8 After cooling, glue the baked pieces together with jam.
